Audrey is a registered music teacher and has more than 30 years of experience teaching piano and theory. Her solo and collaborative piano performance studies have allowed her to develop numerous strategies that have resulted in a holistic approach to teaching students of all levels.
Audrey adjudicates music festivals and competitions, has presented workshops, and is a member of the College of Examiners of The Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto). She has been assistant musical director with productions at RJC High School (SK) for many years and is a past performer at the Station Arts Centre (Rosthern) professional summer musical production. Audrey has worked as a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan teaching musicianship, and also facilitated the music department’s delivery of some online courses.
Audrey has been a facilitator for the online Piano Teacher Pedagogy Courses offered by The Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) for several years, and she is able to offer lessons online in addition to in-person if requested. In addition to in-person exams, she has also conducted many remote piano exams for RCM.
Audrey maintains a private studio teaching piano, voice, and theory. She continues to collaborate with vocalists and has much experience accompanying choirs. Audrey has also enjoyed many opportunities to sing with semi-professional choirs and smaller ensembles, and she synthesizes these experiences into her approach to teaching. She is a 2022 recipient of the Saskatchewan Choral Federation’s Community Service Award for her contributions to choral music as a collaborative pianist in Saskatchewan.
Audrey taught me how to feel through the piano. Because of the safe space she provided me during our lessons, I was able to access that very vulnerable and personal expression coming through me via the piano.
